Hair restoration
We know that hair loss can deeply affect a person's self-esteem. Many people, both men and women, who visit our practice inquiring about hair replacement procedures report feeling less attractive and self-confident as a result of losing their hair. At our Center, we educate our patients seeking hair replacement procedures in order to dispel the many myths about the causes of hair loss. While poor scalp circulation, vitamin deficiencies, dandruff, even wearing hats excessively have all been blamed for hair loss, none of these myths is true.

We tell potential hair replacement patients the truth - that each individual hair follicle is preprogrammed at conception to either keep or lose its hair. And, we educate potential hair replacement patients on possible treatment plans and realistic results, letting them know that a hair transplant can be an important way of not only restoring a person's natural appearance, but also their sense of self-esteem.

Candidates for Hair Replacement
When we consult with anyone considering hair replacement, we make sure they understand that all techniques use existing hair. The goal of hair replacement surgery is to make the best use of your existing hair to produce natural-looking, permanent results. These hair replacement results can be impressive, but they may not necessarily match your ideal. A good candidate for hair replacement has the following:

- Distinct areas of concern to be addressed with hair replacement treatment
- Sufficient hair on either the back or sides of the head to donate for the hair replacement procedure
- Realistic expectations about what is and what is not possible with hair replacement

Hair Transplants
We perform individual follicle hair transplants using your own hair in an office setting under local anesthesia. Complete hair transplants can frequently be performed in one sitting. Most patients who undergo hair transplants are able to return to work the day following surgery and can comb their new hair within a few months. During individual follicle hair transplants, the surgeon removes small pieces of hair-bearing scalp from a donor site on your head. Those hair transplants or grafts are then divided under a microscope into individual follicles. These follicles are then micro-implanted, one hair at a time, into small "pin holes" in the balding area. Hair transplants at our practice entail up to 3,500 grafts that can be performed in a single session. While hair transplants require meticulous and time-consuming work, we believe the terrific, natural results we achieve are worth it. We can complete the entire hair replacement process in a single day using local anesthesia. If you think you might be a good candidate for hair replacement surgery, please us today to set up a consultation.
